چکیده

Most integrated circuit interconnects are principally composed of a few metals , including aluminum alloyed with copper, tungsten, titanium, Al 3 Ti, and Al 2 Cu, in a silica matrix. Integrated circuit interconnects have recently been proposed as a candidate system for visualization by computerized microto-mography using absorption in the soft X-ray region. In this work, we demonstrate the feasibility of materials identiication using volume-resolved x-ray absorption near edge spectra (XANES) obtained by tomographic reconstruction. We calculate the XANES for interconnect materials near the Al K edge, experiment when possible. The signal-to-noise ratio required to distinguish among the aluminum compounds from their Al K edge spectra is shown to be about one order of magnitude higher than that needed to detect elemental aluminum.

Rapid Mapping of Lithiation Dynamics in Transition Metal Oxide Particles with Operando X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy

Since the commercialization of lithium ion batteries (LIBs), layered transition metal oxides (LiMO2, where M = Co, Mn, Ni, or mixtures thereof) have been materials of choice for LIB cathodes. During cycling, the transition metals change their oxidation states, an effect that can be tracked by detecting energy shifts in the X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectrum. X-ray absorption ...

Quaternary Cu (InxGa1-x) Se2 Nanoparticles Synthesis Using Heating-up Method for Photovoltaic Applications

In this paper, tetragonal chalcopyrite (CIGS) Cu(InxGa1-x)Se2 with x=0, 0.5, 0.8, 1 are synthesized by heating-up method. These nanoparticle structures differ in morphology and absorption properties due to the synthesis temperatures of 250, 255, 260, 265, 270 and 280 ºC, and gallium molar ratio over the total gallium and indium contents. These features are studied using scanning electron m...

Theory and Analysis of XAFS

Owing to its element specific and short-range nature, core-level X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is now routinely used to elucidate the local structural, vibrational, and other physical properties of complex, aperiodic materials. XAS encompasses both extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X-ray absorption near edge spectra (XANES) [1, 2], where the terms refer, respectively, t...

Synthesis and microstructure of manganese ferrite colloidal nanocrystals.

The atomic level structure of a series of monodisperse single crystalline nanoparticles with a magnetic core of manganese ferrite was studied using X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) techniques at both the Fe and Mn K-edges, and conventional and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM and HRTEM). In particular, insights on the ...

Introduction: The effects of X-rays on carcinogens have been proven in recent years. Today, lead is used in many devices such as lead covers, thyroid protectors to protect the body against x-rays. But this equipment contains many disadvantages such as, Toxicity, High weight and Lack of flexibility. Today, newer methods, such as semi-solid skin care products (cream, ointment), a...
